Join us for Preservation Idaho’s Idaho Falls Tour, a WalkAbout at Your Fingertips in downtown Idaho Falls. Experience this 1-hour self-guided walking/driving audiovisual tour through 100+ years of history and architecture. This interesting and entertaining tour introduces you to structures, landscapes, history, and stories that make downtown Idaho Falls unique and captivating.

TOUR HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE:

  • Downtown’s evolution from a narrow crossing on the Snake River, through a railroad town boom and bust, to urban renewal decline and 21st-century revitalization
  • Residential and commercial structures spanning over 100 years of construction
  • Historic river, river crossings, rail, and road transportation corridors
  • Simple vernacular architecture through commercial Richardsonian Romanesque
  • Stories, myths, and legends associated with the people and places that make downtown unique

On this tour, you’ll find a map pinpointing the location of eleven (11) tour stops. These stops are listed beginning with an Introduction and ending with a Conclusion.
