Places are changing every day in Boise. So many new things are being developed and so many old things are being left behind.

Columbia Village keeps growing and growing. Over the last couple of years new houses have gone up around the area and because of Focus 208 we can remember every step of the way.

Columbia Village is a subdivision inside the Southeast Boise neighborhood boundaries, which runs from the Boise State campus to the Micron complex.

“The Original South Boise Neighborhood is bounded by Beacon Street, Broadway, and Boise Avenues.
It is within walking distance of downtown Boise, the Greenbelt, Parkcenter, and Boise State University.
Within its 33 blocks are homes, duplexes, apartments, offices, restaurants and retail businesses. Since
the 1890s, this area has been the model of a pedestrian-oriented neighborhood, with homes, services and employment within walking distance. The neighborhood has grown over time to its current size. The Southeast neighborhood Association was established in 1987,” said Brian McDevit, President of the Southeast Boise Association.

History is also involved in this neighborhood, the Oregon Trail runs through this neighborhood and along the Boise River as well. Its a place where people can take there dogs and just go for walks and learn information about the trail.

There are two schools in Columbia Village; Trail Wind Elementary and Les Bois Junior High, along with a retirement home, fire station, dental office, soccer and baseball fields.

Overall Columbia Village is a nice peaceful neighborhood full of activities.
