Built in 1903 by the prominent Boise architectural duo Campbell & Wayland for the John K. Enboe family, the Queen Anne style house sits along the prominent and historic Warm Springs Avenue District.
Now home to the Peterson Family, the house has experienced several remodels over the years.
Many of the renovations have not been sympathetic to the original structure, including the addition of a brick fireplace and chimney, aluminum siding, and the addition of vinyl windows.
The newest restoration of the Enboe House by Glancey Rockwell and Associates both restores and enhanced the home by addressing important historic elements and sensitive new ones. Replacement of the aluminum siding with more appropriate wood shingle siding and new window trim along with restoration of the original porch were key historic preservation details.
The non historic garage structure was cut back to a more appropriate scale and provides a more historic view of the house and the new additions have low visual impact on the front elevation, preserving the street character of the home.
